Nanoparticles are frequently used in TheraNostics and can function as contrast agent and as antenna for electromagnetic waves in treatment. However, producing stable dispersion of nanoparticles or carbon nanotubes that show specific interactions with lipid membranes or tissue can be a challenging task.

Probing dispersibility of single walled carbon nanotubes with liquid crystals as wetting host phase (AFM)

Tracking the localization of polymer-functionalized CdSe nanoparticle in monolayers made of lipid and block co-polymers. The coating of the nanoparticle can be used to tune their interaction with the soft matter. Multi Setpoint Intermittent Contact (MUSIC) mode AFM was use as a tomography technique to localize the nanoparticle inside the polymer domains.
